Are You Living on the Edge of Anger
People with personality disorders are often living their lives on the edge of anger. People with
anger management issues also get offended very quickly. They are unable to control their emotions, which are
frequently urging them to strike out at the person who offended them. They become angry very quickly, and
once this happens they just cannot control themselves.
They are the victims of anger and anger ends up ruling their lives. The lives of people
with anger management complications can be riddled by anger and this result in them having absolutely no discipline
over their lives.
Much research has been done on anger and its diverse aspects. One group believes that anger is
inherited and every human being has the ability to lose control of emotions and anger but the other camp insists
that anger out of control may come from illness to certain part of the brain.
The latter camp points to the example of a person who killed his wife and then killed 30 other
people and then himself. The autopsy of that person, found that a large growth had developed on the limbic system
of the brain, and during the resultant epileptic seizures he was unable to control himself and acted out
violently.
Also researches were done on prisoners. Many of them were found to be suffering from antisocial
personality disorders. The researchers attributes the disorders to imbalances of hormones and chemicals that played
a major role in developing such behavior and the consequential anger management problems.
Hormonal or chemical imbalance is just one of the many underlying reasons for anger. There are
many other underlying reasons which can affect the mood of a person to such an extent that they act in a violent
manner.
When you have recognized that you have an anger management problem, i.e. you cannot restraint
your emotions and are prone to act violently while angry, and you are not capable to resolve this problem on your
own, then you should most certainly seek remedial help. If the problem is persistent, you might want to get a check
up with your physician or possibly see a mental health expert. You will benefit when you learn how to express your
anger without blowing up or feeling threatened by communicating your feelings.
They will help you to learn more about your triggers and how to cope with the triggers as they
come your way. The therapist will series some laboratory tests in order to ascertain whether the person is
suffering from a hormonal or chemical imbalance . Therapists will prescribe suitable anger management techniques to
tackle the trigger points or situations that make you angry, and if necessary can prescribe medication to help calm
your nerves to allow you to ponder positively about the problems you are facing.
Finally, stop living on the edge of anger and walking on the road to destruction. You might even
reward your self with something that you have been wanting for some time. When you have determined that you will
not let anger restraint your existence and that you will take restraint yourself, then you will realize and feel
the positive difference
